A touching short story that is sure to appeal to anyone who has ever lived or traveled in the Indian subcontinent.
City of Rickshaws Short Story eBook John Stryder
I loved this story! I loved the random beating of the rickshaw driver's wife, the unexamined past of his daughter, the foreigner and his curse. Loved it all. Could have used a little more editing but overall I felt like it was a breath of fresh air. Like a modern day R K Narayan. MORE MODERN INDIA PLEASE!! This was one of the better short novels I have read of late. None of the modern angst that took star off of the other well written Stryder story I read recently.Product details

City of Rickshaws Short Story eBook John Stryder Reviews
I first became a fan of John Stryder from his "Virginity, In a Man" story. This story is completely different but just as mesmerizing. I still haven't figured out whether it's a revenge fantasy or a story about psychology or something a little bit magical. Well, either way,you can tell that it's a story that gives you lots to think about. On top of all that, it does a great job in putting you in an exotic and colorful world.
This is a touching short story that can be appreciated by anyone who has spent time traveling in India. It is an elegantly crafted tale of lives intertwining haphazardly on the exotic streets of Delhi. The story struck me as a metaphor for life in India—a rickshaw ride through an intoxicating mix of brilliant color, filth, mayhem, serenity, unmentionable atrocities, and delicate fragility. Much like India itself, this short story is an adventure that will leave you exhausted, yet wanting more.
